2023 WashCo Election Analysis

Published by . Filed under Local - Southwest Utah. Total of no comments in the discussion.

Commentary by Ed Wallace, Publisher – Dec 15, 2023

So, the election results are in, allegedly (there are currently 3 criminal investigations into Utah county clerks), and have been certified. The big conservative wave that many were hoping for turned out to be just the same old crimson trickle of blood dripping from Planned Parenthood’s garbage cans.

Part of living in the modern, technologically sophisticated world is understanding that counting ballots takes longer in 2022 than it did in 1951.

Why can Argentina count 25–30 million paper ballots in hours, while certain areas, using machine ballots, take days to count a fraction of that number. How does one reconcile this? These types of rinky-dink elections with long “third world” delays are being normalized, but it’s far from normal, and we all know it.

There seems to be a willful blindness on the part of the American people, a chosen refusal to acknowledge the implications of the unAmerican and unConstitutional behaviors, actions and outcomes we are being served on a daily basis.

It can no longer be presumed to be a matter of, “I can’t see what’s happening”, because a whole lot of normal Americans really are clean and articulate.

“I can’t see it”,  just doesn’t cut it.

NONSENSE!  Most people can see it.  Most are just choosing to reconcile the irreconcilable, because it is more comforting to ignore the truth of it.  Just be honest.  For many people avoidance has become a survival mechanism.

It’s more along the lines of, “I see what’s happening, but it’s scary and complicated and confusing, and if I admit that I see it, I will become responsible in a way that I am not if I keep pretending I can’t see it or hear it or maybe I don’t understand it.”

So, I asked myself, what is worse, a stolen election or an electorate so insouciant and out to lunch that they would keep incumbents in office that  fervently believe that parents are bad citizens, are bad for children, and should have no say in their education (brainwashing), and that is demonizing normality and normalizing perversity?

Consider also the public’s dissatisfaction with out-of-control growth that is bringing our infrastructure to the breaking point, with no cap on property taxes, and more increases coming, the lack of transparency, the adoption of U.N Agenda 2030, and forced indoctrination of school children with transgender theory and critical race theory.

This election was a chance for voters to register their dissent, and according to the vote results they failed to do so. That begs the question: Are there enough patriots left in WashCo that care about their freedoms and liberty? Must we write off our fellow citizens as being too stupid to survive as a free people?

I’m no fan of early voting because it favors low agency voters. The main issue is the no-excuse universal mail-in ballots. I remember when the only way to vote early or mail-in your ballot was to fill out a form and give a valid excuse for not being able to vote locally on election day.

As everyone knows, democracy is when the establishment  holds unlimited power, and today that sacred foundation of our country is under attack from free speech. Democracy experts warned that democracy is under threat like never before as the populace is being allowed to say whatever they want to each other.  Said experts are recommending greater powers be given to the city and county governments to address the growing threats such as speech, opinions, people saying stuff, and bad inward thoughts that poison the mind against our benevolent overlords.

We’re already seeing that  policy manifesting itself  with the silencing of voters at city council and county commission meetings.

There’s nothing worse than being a threat to democracy. It’s the greatest of all sins. To ensure you aren’t a threat to democracy, keep an eye out for these troubling signs: You constantly correct people and tell them we’re a constitutional republic, not a democracy, and you question the results of elections when Rinos and Democrats win. That’s definitely a threat to democracy.  Finally, how dare you only wear ten masks in public and only get 10 COVID boosters? You’re gonna kill everybody!

It is really sad to see what is happening in so many towns across our country. The manipulating, the lying, the cheating, the secret deals behind closed doors, the harassing of the folks who do stand up, by the growth industry: developers, builders, banks, realtors, title companies, appraisers, home inspectors, etc., and the hospitality/tourism industry: lodging, restaurants, events, etc., and the multiple annual marathons, triathlons, senior games, etc., the High density housing…  Hence, the continual drive to bring people here to spend money, make them comfortable, and eventually live here. Water and traffic be damned. Get all they can, while they can.  Build and destroy….emulating failed states. Zero common-sense. Zero regard for anyone or anything.

These  are the people and entities that will make huge profits on the backs of the peons of WashCo. Who is paying for the acquisition costs for all their new business? YOU ARE. That’s crony socialism, in it’s purest sense.

Another example of the manipulation was the “Go-Bond” referendum. 12% of the population of St. George was duped into voting to raise their taxes, and stealing from their neighbors, to pay for paths and parks that most don’t use, but the proponents wanted, to attract “more people like us.” That’s also pure socialism, not to mention the bias and racism.

The Lord said that he “holds men accountable for their acts in relation” to governments “both in making laws and administering them”

All of those things are the polar opposite of the standard of righteousness that the Lord demanded from Lot, “Honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil” (D&C 98:10) Continued below on page 5…..

Ask yourself if we do that as a people. In our city councils, our county commissions, our state legislatures.

Do we know that the men & women we elect to represent us have the gift of prophecy & revelation. If they do, then you can know that they are in the spirit of liberty, which is the Spirit of Christ.

The past two generations have grown up under socialism’s influence so completely that we don’t even know when we’re thinking socialism.

In my opinion, a Spectrum editorial published back in May by Warren Wright, a resident of St. George, nails it: Entitled “The growth machine is doing its work on St. George and Washington County”, Wright writes:

“Business dealings were going well for the buyers and sellers, but not necessarily for “society as whole.” I found that our local Growth/Promotion Machine and Tourist Industry (GPMTI), pretty much had a monopoly on the major decision-making here in the St. George-Metro area — being the real power brokers, and sort of a “mutual admiration society.” … It seems back around 1970 changes began to take place. Instead of a “Protectorate,” land speculators, money-changers and promoters began having visions of dollars dancing in their heads and priorities changed to that of exploit rather than protect…. The common good has almost always been of secondary consideration to worshiping the false idols of money, prestige and notoriety…. The majority of residents here in Dixie don’t get giddy over every new scheme or event that comes down the pike and only brings more people, traffic congestion and increased social problems. Tens of millions of dollars have been foolishly spent over the years enticing people to visit and relocate here.”

In the past several decades, the motive of a Republican or Democrat politician advancing their influence by running for political office has absolutely nothing to do with representing the interests of the American people. NOTHING. Their interests are to engage within the business of politics, while presenting themselves as qualified actors to retain the premise of political service. The business of buying, selling and controlling policy, is the core operation of people within our political system.

Of course, that could never happen here.

Oops….  It just did.

Freedom is a word often thrown around by those inside the political sphere as they seek to retain the illusion of choice by controlling the population. However, freedom in its truest  sense is a battle cry of those who are ignored by the same control agents of government.I guess Thomas Jefferson was right after all. ‘The government you elect is the government you deserve.’ The parties hear you, voters. You just wait until the next election – they’ll have some real qualified nincompoops that will knock your socks off.

In many ways, We The People are in an abusive relationship with government.

If you do not agree with the agenda as it is controlled by a small a powerful self-described elitist class, then we become the problem.

When you peel the issues down to their essential core, what you will always find, always find, is the money of the thing.

The created system of control is maintained through economics, and any America-First policy that threatens to close the divide between the ‘haves and have-nots’ is viewed against their interests.  This is the essential core of the opposition we face.

The need for control is a reaction to fear.  Losing influence and affluence is the fear behind the division.  If we make the totalitarians a better sandwich, if we reach across the aisle and afford benefit of high-minded doubt, maybe our professional abusers will permit us to keep a little more…  Ultimately, the chase for scraps.

The ‘us -vs- them‘ scenario is not Republicans -vs- Democrats, it’s We The People, represented by MAGA, -vs- the totalitarian rulers in both parties.

We will win….It is not a question of if, it is only a matter of how!

Data from the New Zealand Ministry of Health shows that the COVID vaccines have killed over 10 million worldwide

It’s finally here: record-level data showing vaccine timing and death date. There is no confusion any longer: the vaccines are unsafe and have killed, on average, around 1 person per 1,000 doses.

Today you will get to see the data that nobody wants you to see. FINALLY.

No State or country has ever released record-level public health data on any vaccine.

Privacy is not the reason for this; the data can be easily obfuscated (which we did on this data) so that no record entry would match that of any person, living or dead.

The reason the data is kept secret is simple: it would expose the fact that the COVID vaccines are unsafe, as well as all the vaccines that I have been able to get record-level data on.

Today, thanks to a courageous whistleblower who works at the New Zealand Ministry of Health, we have record-level information from a large population of all ages and are making it public for the first time in history.

Gee, I reckon I am on this government list as well!

Indeed, Special Counsel Jack Smith sought, and appears to have gotten, information on all users Trump followed, unfollowed, muted, unmuted, blocked, or unblocked, as well as all users who followed, unfollowed, muted, unmuted, blocked, or unblocked Trump.

Smith also requested that Twitter provide information on “all lists of Twitter users who have favorited or retweeted tweets posted by [Trump], as well as all tweets that include the username associated with the account (i.e., ‘mentions’ or ‘replies’).”

The ridiculously overbroad warrant and demand for information, was initially fought by Twitter; however, it appears the courts ultimately demanded compliance and Twitter acquiesced.  That is a stunning amount of information included in the search warrant.

While the release of the warrant is initially surprising, it should not come as a great surprise to know the Biden government wants to generate a list of what they would consider subversives to the interests of the state.

Donald Trump’s legal team filed a document Monday arguing the ex-president had a legitimate ‘good faith’ basis to question the results of the 2020 election results.

Trump’s lawyers, led by Todd Blanche and John Lauro, claim in the filing that the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021 could have resulted from ‘failed sting operations rather than any directions from President Trump.’

The defense made 59 requests including the identification of ‘informants and other undercover operatives’ involved in the January 6 Capitol attack as well as information regarding security measures carried out that day.

Potentially Important, but the Deep State Interests Are Massive – Judge Rules Contents of Seth Rich Laptop Must Be Released…

November 29, 2023 | Sundance | 258 Comments

If you know the background context, the latest developments in the Seth Rich laptop legal battle could be extremely interesting.  However, despite a very favorable court ruling, I caution against too much optimism – the stakes in this ancillary story to the targeting of President Donald Trump are extremely high.

The bottom line of the latest development is that a judge has given the DOJ 14 days to turn over the contents of the laptop belonging to former DNC staffer Seth Rich.  There are multiple points of information that point toward Seth Rich having downloaded the DNC email files and shared them with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Seth Rich was killed shortly thereafter in what DC claims was a “botched robbery.”

The reason this story is important will be highlighted below in granular detail.  However, within the Time Magazine article about the judge’s ruling the closing statement summarizes the position of the DEEPEST elements of the DC Deep State.

Twitter owner Elon Musk went full wolverine earlier today during remarks at the ‘New York TImes’ DealBook Summit’ on a wide-ranging interview including anti-semitism, an advertiser boycott, Tesla, AI and more.

I have been skeptical of Mr. Musk, particularly over the mechanics of his purchase against the backdrop of DHS/FBI control elements; his remarks today are going viral. Despite continued reservations about Mr. Musk, I appreciate and respect his candor. WATCH:

Reflections On City Council Public Input

By Paula Smith, Columnist at UtahStandardNews.com, December 8. 2023

December 7, 2023, St George City Council meeting offered the “limited edition” public comment.

Since 2014, the St. George City Council has provided an opening public input session. Public input serves as an avenue for residents to voice questions, concerns, and grievances to the Council, with these interactions being documented in the public record. This record is a valuable point of reference for the public and officials. It’s important to note that this public comment opportunity is distinct from the public comments related to various agenda items or proposed government actions, which are legally mandated before the Council makes decisions; that aspect remains unchanged. The Mayor discontinued the opening public input on May 4, 2023. “Temporary measures”. You can see that meeting here (around the 13 minute mark):

The timing of the decision to cancel the opening public input portion was notable, coinciding with the approaching City Council elections. This strategic move of stifling opposition could potentially benefit certain candidates. Only one City Council member, Michelle Tanner, voiced dissent against the cancellation of public input. The decision faced significant resistance, leading to substantial pushback from the community. Interestingly, there was a notable moment during this backlash where individuals from traditionally opposing factions found common ground, uniting against the decision. Two months later, the Mayor decided to reinstate the comments; however, in a limited capacity, you can read the statement here.

Rule number 5 in the published statement, “undue applause,” is enforced inconsistently. In instances where a resident makes a statement that resonates with the entire room, leading to applause, attendees are promptly scolded with warnings such as “NO CLAPPING,” and there are instances with threats of removal. In response, attendees have adapted by resorting to a silent applause approach, using hand waves.

However, a notable inconsistency exists, as there appears to be a double standard regarding applause. While residents are restricted in expressing themselves through applause, there seems to be an exception for anything the Mayor says, allowing for applause at any time with no repercussions. This apparent disparity in how the rule is applied fosters an environment where expressions of support for the Mayor are permitted. At the same time, dissenting voices are suppressed, contributing to a perceived lack of fairness in handling public engagement during these meetings.

During the meeting on December 7, one of the input comments came from a resident named Jeff. He shared his perspective, highlighting the common experience of individuals who relocated from another state, like himself. Jeff articulated that many residents left their former states due to decisions made by representatives that had negative consequences for the citizens such as loss of freedoms. A key point raised by Jeff was the issue of affordability, which he connected to increasing taxes in their former states. His commentary aimed to draw attention to the potential parallels between the experiences of those who moved to St George and their concerns about the direction of local decision-making.

The decisions made in states that experienced failure, prompting residents to leave, had a significant impact. These choices changed the quality of life that residents once cherished and turned those areas into something unrecognizable. There is a noticeable similarity in the trajectory of our local leaders, suggesting that they might be making decisions that could lead to comparable negative consequences for our community.

Jeff’s commentary underscores that the decisions leading to negative consequences in their previous states weren’t swift; instead, they accumulated over years or even decades. The gradual nature of these decisions contributed to increased taxes and the redefinition of the city to a point where residents felt compelled to make a fresh start elsewhere. The situation had deteriorated to such an extent that residents felt moving was their only viable option. Jeff’s plea to the City Council was a call to reflect on the potential long-term implications of decisions, urging them to consider the future trajectory of St. George. He expressed a desire for proactive decision-making to prevent the city from following the path of those failed cities that residents had previously fled.

As residents, how should we respond? Do we passively observe events unfolding? Should we consider relocating to a new city and starting afresh? Won’t these decisions ultimately lead to the same repetitive outcomes? We must break this cycle. We must persist in addressing the issues, actively calling attention to them, and holding our representatives accountable.

While painful to witness, “you have to see it if you’re going to do anything about it.” SS.

We must hold the line. Thank you, Patriot Jeff, for speaking up.

WashCity Council Member Creates a Christmas Stir

Published by . Filed under Local - Southwest Utah, US News. Total of no comments in the discussion.

News/Commentary By Ed Wallace, Publisher, December 6, 2023

A post (click here) on Facebook generated over 140 comments in less than 22 hours. The post, by VJ, stated, “I’m a religious person, but this post that was included in an email sent out by the city and written by city councilwoman Kim Casperson seems out of place.”

“Vanessa Jones”

Vanessa has every appearance of being a fake person…. No friends, photos, posts… nothing. Is it possible that one of the supporters of her post created her persona like Mitt Romney did with Pierre Delecto for the sole purpose of agreeing with himself?

Most of the reaction was very supportive of Casperson’s post, many praised her for it, including AC, who stated “The men who founded our earliest form of government were motivated to do so by the right to worship God. We cannot forget our roots! This country was formed so that Christian’s could worship God!! Welcome to America! We have been and are a Christian country from the very beginning! I love this message of hope and light. It brought a calming, loving feeling into my heart.”

There were a few who agreed with Jones.

CS, started it off: “I agree so much for church and state being separate.”

MS replied, “Caleb, you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what separation of church and state means. It’s ok, most do. There’s nothing wrong with expressing faith and conviction. You think she can’t express it publicly because she is on a city council?  Seriously, get over yourself! Being Christian is not to be hidden no matter how much the identity idiots on the left think it needs to be. Whether that is you or not you are siding with them.”

JH added, “The Separation of Church and State was an old adage which was coined to emphasize that the church must remain free from the state’s influence. The founders didn’t want the state to dictate which church must be chosen, preferred, or given special status. It was never intended to mean that the church couldn’t have a presence in the state.”

EM also commented on Garrett’s argument, “Kim is awesome. I wonder if you say anything about inappropriate disgusting books in public schools; or perverted drag shows out in the open in Washington County? Probably not. But this offends?”

One of the most vocal against Casperson’s greeting was CG, who said, “This holiday wasn’t a thing before Christianity and it won’t exist after Christianity either…. you do understand that Christmas was a pagan holiday? Right. Christ was actually born in the spring. It was just hijacked by your religion. I hope you have an amazing holiday celebrating thousands of years of rape, murder, and cultural appropriation because the people you are celebrating this season stole the holiday from at least 2000 years before their own time and pagans celebrate the winter solstice on this special day…. Religion shouldn’t be preferred by government and government shouldn’t be preferred by religion. Religious freedom is a founding tenant of this country, but if you don’t belong to the prevalent religion here you get treated as an outsider. Exactly the opposite of what should be happening.”

LM, always a pillar of common sense, stated, “If we only say things that won’t “offend” or differ from someone’s beliefs, we’ll never say anything at all. Put on the big-boy/girl pants and “tolerate” the Christians.”

PHF replied “I’m glad that Kim can express her heartfelt words. Whether you like her thoughts or not, I’m grateful that we still enjoy the Freedom of Speech. Her words have allowed me to see into her heart and what influences her as she leads this community. I’m grateful that she can be true to herself and not just be politically correct in sharing her views.”

IS chimed in, “But while I’m certain that it’s unintentional, the same message alienates others, who do not feel acceptance in the community because their spiritual beliefs are different. It’s especially a sensitive issue when thousands of people are dying and suffering in the Middle East over conflicts rooted in religious beliefs.”

SLS added some sense to the conversation, ”There are wars all over the world, people don’t always believe the same. This is a kind and accepting community, perhaps if someone feels alienated it’s because they’ve told themselves they are because they believe differently, not because they aren’t welcomed by their beliefs. Let’s not become like the Middle East because we believe or assume others feel a certain way or because they believe in Jesus. If someone in our community feels not welcome please reach out, I know hundreds on this page that would welcome you in religion or not. Christmas is celebrating Christ’s birth, it’s here, it’s all over the world. No one is trying to hurt anyone with that… it’s the season of Love and Light “

JL argued, “It’s in a city utility bill. It’s just not the place for it.”

SLS responded, “Was it a newsletter or just the City Bill? Is it worth stealing someone”s joy? I mean maybe just maybe we can not Nick pick the heck out of joyful things because WHY? Let’s find some PEACE on earth and not make an issue of a non issue”

BB said, “Personally, I am grateful to live in a city where this type of message can be freely shared. I’d bet there are many people who are blessed by it.”

Perhaps the most concise and direct statement was from our former State Representative TS- “When we elect our Leaders, we elect them because of who they are, and what their values are, in hope of them representing our own values in their governmental efforts. Surely we don’t elect someone to abandon their values on the day that they take their Oath of office. (And, Christmas after all is called “Christ”mas, not GenericMass nor PCmass, etc.) Tyranny of the Minority is co-equally worrisome as Tyranny of the Majority. Both are Tyranny. But Kim’s message was a heartfelt expression of her values — not Tyranny. She didn’t force anyone to get on board with her values. Rather, the city silencing Kim’s 1st Amendment rights of speech and religion, would indeed be Tyranny, and our Constitution would then be trampled. If somebody doesn’t know what I mean by that, go back and read the actual First Amendment and it will become clear: our Constitution exists to PROTECT our inalienable rights, including freedom of speech and religion. Not to crush those rights. I would be very worried indeed if our dear city evolves to the point of tipping the Constitution upside down or reversing those very underpinnings of a free society.”

Local music legend ED said “This post was a brilliant marketing ploy to get me to focus for 2 seconds and read the city newsletter finally. Well done!”

IH added “It’s a beautiful message. I wish it would have been in my utility bill.”

This writer believes that it is refreshing to have a local leader who lives her beliefs and sets an example for our community, which has every right to be represented by someone who shares their beliefs. I agree with SLS: “Let’s STOP being offended, let’s START-seeing the good , it’s all around us! If this isn’t your place and you don’t feel you fit in (and you have put forth effort) then maybe there is a better place for you”

I’m reminded that the Lord said that “he holds men accountable for their acts in relation” to governments “both in making laws and administering them”

In (D&C 98:10), the Lord demands that “Honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil”

Do we know that the people we elect are in the spirit of liberty, which is the Spirit of Christ? Ask yourself if we do that as a people… In our city councils, our county commissions, our state legislatures.

Here in Utah, where one would think that we would gravitate toward a higher level of life, we don’t. We elect a legislature, filled with Priesthood holding Latter Day Saints who don’t do anything impressive or praiseworthy. We pay allegiance to a democrat and republican party, who are both part of the same, worthless secret combination. We elect governors who do not stand for Christ and we allow people who we don’t know to run and govern our state.

We’ve allowed our government to dictate what our children are taught in schools and what many religions teach from the pulpit, out of fear, or sheer idolatry, and in 2020 silenced the most powerful and effective control on tyrannical governments throughout history, which is the educated, activated body of Christ.

We fund and send our kids to government schools that have made the preaching of Christ illegal except from a historical perspective, which contradicts the very heart of our religion that Christ, the light of Christ, is in all things, of all things and through all things, the law by which all things are governed.

Texas passed a law recently that requires the 10 Commandments be hung in every classroom, in every school. Why don’t we do that? We teach our children the opposite of the 10 commandments. Like, it’s ok to kill a baby. It’s ok to covet as long as you do it through the legal education system. It’s ok to steal from people if you do it as a politician through the treasury of the state or through a secret combination of lobbyists who write the law. Does anyone believe that everything you pay for today is moral? If not, why are you required by a system to pay for things that by the Book of Mormon’s definition, are anti-Christ on its face?

And, we have a sitting member of the U.S. Congress, Rep. John Curtis, who will soon announce his intent to replace Senator Romney, who believes that a den of murderers, thieves and political whores (the U.S. Capitol) is “a temple of liberty. “

For centuries our forefathers willingly suffered and sacrificed that we might enjoy the blessings of freedom. What are we doing to maintain that for ourselves and for future generations?

Constitutions don’t enforce themselves. They never did. And they never will. We need to be willing to bear the shame of the world by holding ourselves and our leaders to the highest standard humanly possible.

The most poignant comment was made by LB. She stated,

“The people in a town didn’t want a nativity set in their town. A Nativity scene is nothing more than a symbol and a symbol is an image or a tradition that really serves no purpose if it doesn’t stir someone to remember the thing that it represents. God never wanted to force his Son on anyone… it’s not the way he does things. He is God and with his power he could have compelled everyone in the world to bow down and worship his son, but he didn’t. He could have filled the world with thunder and lightning and blazing chariots to announce the new King’s arrival, but he didn’t. He could have assembled the richest, most powerful people on earth to be witnesses to the new King’s coronation but he didn’t. And that is why the first Christmas was the way it was. He chose a poor girl from the village to give birth to the new king and he chose a stable instead of a palace for the new king’s birth.

And shepherds…common laborers…they were chosen as the first witnesses. When Jesus came to earth he came to the least and the last and the lowest and the lost. These people witnessed the birth of a king who never owned a home, never held political office and never made a grab for power. This Man who came from a poor mother is still considered a person of interest today over 2000 years later. Why is that…Not because he forced people to choose him… it is because for centuries men and women have been seeking God. And they found him through Jesus Christ, and while they were seeking God they realized that God had been looking for them their whole lives. That is what happened on that Christmas long ago. Jesus came to earth looking for you. He came to show the whole world what God’s love is like. On the first Christmas, God’s perfect gift was love. If you take the love out of Christmas, where will you put it and what will you do with it? What will you do with Him if you remove Him from this season? The thing that fills people’s hearts usually starts to show up everywhere around them and that is why this time of year you see evergreens and lights and stars and nativity scenes, because they remind people of the love that came looking for them so long ago.”

Merry Christmas and may God bless us… all.

St. George To Buy Maui?

Published by . Filed under Local - Southwest Utah, US News. Total of no comments in the discussion.

By Charles Mayne, USN Columnist, Dec 4, 2023

At a hastily called press conference, surrounded by a swarm of enthusiastic reporters from as far away as as SLC, Council woman person Carbon Life Form (CLF) Marguerita DeVille said “Aloha, I have summoned you all to this hastily called press conference to announce that our beloved city is buying Maui. Like here, Maui is a favorite tourist destination. It’s a place to go in search of world-class beaches, massive waves for surfing, dolphin, and whale watching.”

DeVille was donned in a rainbow-colored linen moo-moo dress with a Thai lief lei twist around her neck and Polynesian hunks and dancers at her side wearing crowns of white orchids, ti ankle leis, and bare feet.

Mayor Orphalia Pane pushed DeVille aside and related that “Maui and St. George have a lot in common. St. George used to be on the ocean floor. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with our heritage.”

City Manager Tommy Hawk stated, “This shows the foresight and problem-solving capabilities of our elected patriot officals and is exactly the type of leadership our community needs.”

A reporter asked, “Why Hawaii? Why not Montana or Wyoming?”

CLF Willie Makit replied “Are you kidding me? Montana? Wyoming? We’re already in the wild west. Why on earth would we want to buy something we already possess? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to expand our reach.”

“Could it be that you simply want to exploit the island’s natural resources like coconuts, sugar, pineapple, pearls, and mangos?” the reporter added.

“Absolutely not,” Makit replied, “I can get those at my local grocery store. There’s a special bond between St. George and Maui. They both possess majestic, stunning photo opportunities. They are both meccas for the lovers of the outdoors and hikers in particular.”

A social blogger asked “Well, we know it is physically impossible for you to move Maui to St. George, and some may protest, as some are considering declaring their state a sovereign nation, much like the Native Americans on the mainland. What will you gain by buying Maui?”

Newly elected CLF Joe Kerr answered  “We would experience absolutely no personal gain, at least any that can be directly linked to us. Our intent is purely altruistic. Most of the island is already condemned. We’re getting it at a fire-sale price. It’s a steal.”

The blogger asked, “How is buying Maui investing in the future of St. George?”

Kerr replied, “You’ll have to wait until the purchase is complete before you learn that.”

Another reporter asked, “Does this fall within the proper role of the government?”

“Government is whatever we say it is” replied Hawk. “We have to expand because we don’t really produce anything, except more government and regulations for the unruly masses. The only way we can grow is to increase our voter base and taxes. Government is a business, for Pete’s sake. We have to make a profit. Seriously, why worry yourself about what we buy? Smarter people can make the decisions for you. Let us do the thinking, then we’ll take your assets and allocate them appropriately.”

“I thought the government was a service” the reporter pressed, “whose only purpose was to protect the citizens while they pursue their dream of happiness?”

DeVille lectured: “That’s a pretty selfish view of our role. In a true Utopian society, there is no self to begin with. We must stand up against the hostile enemies that surround us as they continue their desperate attempts to tear down the very institutions that their selfish lives depend upon. This is a most selfless act. Only the hateful and mentally insane could oppose the socially progressive, bright Utopian future we have planned for them. Any dissenters should voluntarily check themselves into a re-education camp where they can be trained to be a zen socialist, like I did, and bask in the glory of our ever-knowing and ever-expanding government whose only purpose in being is to protect and watch over them.

DeVille went on “I myself, at times, have also been guilty of thinking but I have repented and now avoid that temptation. I’ve learned that considering facts, science, economic history, political history or simple math will only lead me astray. True progress requires action and if I’m thinking, then I’m not acting. Instead, I’m impeding progress and aiding our enemies that willfully commit acts of treason against our system.” Placing her right hand over her heart, she added “ We’re actually protecting the Constitution and advancing freedom… as we define it.”

“Yeah,” said Council person Sue Ridge. Turning to Deville, she continued “I am so proud of you for undergoing the massive erasure of your brain, and willingly no less. I can’t imagine what my life would be without you in it… Really!!!”

Kent C. Strait, founder of the St. George Essence of Happiness group, a non-entity that boasts hundreds of members and collected money for the visual enhancement propaganda that supported the recent duping of local taxpayers into raising their own taxes (something they would never allow the government to do) said, “We’re lobbying for a million dollar study to research the feasibility of constructing a floating path from the mainland to the island similar to what we supported a few years ago with the Lake Powell Pipeline. That study only cost $40mil. It would have worked if the drought hadn’t happened, darn it. We won’t have that problem with dirt. This is a slam dunk. You can go to my our website to contribute. We accept all forms of payments”

“You mentioned a walkway across the ocean.” a reporter from the Salt Lake Tribulation asked, “Is that why you all supported the $45mil (with interest )Go-Bond, in the recent election?”

Joe Kerr replied “We supported the bond because it’s a blank check for us to use as discretionary funds as long as we define it as fun. Things like more pickleball courts, and parks where drag queens can deepen our understanding of diversity, especially among young children. What we do with that money is our business. The voters are no longer involved in how we spend it, but the voters will benefit because the bond delays our increasing their taxes for years, maybe one or two. Their burden will be light because it could take 25 years for them to pay it back and half of them will probably be dead, and the debt can be passed onto their children and grandchildren, giving them an opportunity to do their civic duty and contribute to society. We believe that the majority of residents are in favor of the bond and we’re going to spend it all! That’s what they asked us to do. Besides, we failed to budget over the years for updating and maintaining the older facilities, so now we need to borrow the money for that. Ultimately, it’s the taxpayers who are going to pay anyway”

The blogger asked, “Less than half of the voters that voted for a Congressional candidate voted on the bond issue. Do you believe that a majority of residents are the 12% of the population who voted to steal money from their neighbors to pay for something the proponents wanted, and their neighbors probably don’t use?” “Isn’t that socialism?”

“Are you calling us socialists?” snapped Major Pane.

“No, just asking” the blogger replied.

“Listen, Sonny, None of this was a great shock. The voters are morons. They proved that in the 2020 election when they focused on a president who couldn’t speak without lying and a major Democrat candidate who often couldn’t speak period. And, they reelected two members of Congress in PA and TN that had died months before the election. There aren’t enough patriots left in America who care about their freedoms and liberty. Most of our public have been trained to think like a socialist while believing that they’re conservative.”

The leaders laughed. “Here in St George, democracy is when the establishment holds unlimited power. So let’s not even pretend the political identifier or quality of the candidate, or even being alive or functioning, truly matters. Thomas Jefferson was right after all. ‘The government you elect is the government you deserve.”

Changing the subject, Armand Hammer, the Chairman of the Southern Ewetah Little Boxes Builders Gang added “We need the land. This is absolutely essential for maintaining the quality of life we enjoy and often take for granted. This deal guarantees that we’ll be able to continue the level of growth we’ve been enjoying while attracting more people ….. like us. Of course, this will require that the public pay for the growth but that’s the price of expanding our area and building a utopia. It’s going to provide more jobs, more buildings, cars, lots of more traffic, businesses, roads, real estate agents, servers in restaurants… more of everything. None of our current residents will be able to afford to live here anymore, but that is a sacrifice we have to make to attract the billions that we need to fulfill our vision of unlimited money and power. Oops, did I just say that?”

A reporter from the Deserted News asked “So, you’re making the taxpayers fund the acquisition costs of creating more business for yourselves? Isn’t that crony socialism?”

For a moment, they all stood there like deers in the headlights, then the blogger asked  “What’s the real reason you want to buy Maui?

DeVille answered, “OK. You’re forcing it out of me. I’m going to be honest with you. Both Maui and St. George maintain some mystical energy that draws tour-ons and artists that are sensitive to the environment and both are known for their vortices – energy twisters. Sedona brings in billions each year by exploiting that crowd. We just want a piece of that pie. We’re not asking for the whole train… just a boxcar, that can also be used to transport radical insurrectionists to the reeducation camps in Maui.”

“I heard that our vortexes are now in the Black Hills of North Carolina” shouted the blogger. “They were taken there by the very person that found them.”

“I’m aware of that claim,” DeVille winced, “That’s precisely why we’re purchasing Maui. It wouldn’t have been right to just go over there and take their vortices. We need the vortices here, and here they will be.”

Major Pane added  “The only sad part of all this is that all the council CLF’s, except for Council Woman Amber Green, are aligned with it. She won’t lessen her values and compromise or try to come to the middle, which makes it tougher for the rest of us to govern. Amber is a reactionary, knuckle-dragging, right-winger, a freedom-loving Christian conservative, who loves America and the founding documents. She wants to seize control of the council and advance politically extreme far-right views. She thinks everyone deserves to be heard. She is rarely in step with the rest of us.”

Pane went on “Believe me, there is nobody that can better plan, monitor, supervise, and assess your quality of life than a well-meaning government official, sensitive to your needs and fantasies. Remember, all you have is granted by us and we always have your welfare and interests in mind. Just think of the disaster the world would be in if we were not controlling everything.”

“Would you say out of all the things you’ve done since you’ve been elected, this would take the cake, your piece de resistance?” asked one reporter to the group.

Pane replied, “I see each and every feat I have accomplished as equally magnanimous.”

“Is this purchase Constitutional, or legal?” asked someone.

“What kind of question is that?” Shouted Mayor Pane. “What a horrible thing to say. I’m not liking the negativity I’m feeling here. Why can’t you just all trust and agree with us? No more comments or questions. This press conference is over.”

On her way to her limousine, Pane added “What do you know about the Constitution anyway? Were you there when it was written? We’ve already searched the laws within that living and breathing document, which was written by a bunch of grumpy old men wearing powdered wigs and high-heeled pumps, long before transgenderism became fashionable. Everything is legal until some judge says it isn’t.”

Green, who is well-known to be the often lone dissenting voice in city leadership, was notably absent from the presser but responded to our request to comment on her position of buying Maui. In a statement to USN, Green said:

“I’d rather kiss Stalin’s mustache. I don’t want anything to do with it. Most politicians try to make people believe they have a problem, and then sell them the solution, and tell them it’s not going to cost a dime. There’s a lot of money to be made by giving the voters what they thought they wanted.

The mark of an exceptional snake oil salesman is to not only make his bottle of elixir appear desirable but to make it appear so desirable that other people who buy it will tell you you’re a fool and ridicule you if you don’t.

Enjoy your indigestion.”

Note, as of Dec 4, 2023

The population of St George was appx. 108,535 including 69,416 adults
