Commentary by Ed Wallace, Publisher – Dec 15, 2023

So, the election results are in, allegedly (there are currently 3 criminal investigations into Utah county clerks), and have been certified. The big conservative wave that many were hoping for turned out to be just the same old crimson trickle of blood dripping from Planned Parenthood’s garbage cans.

Part of living in the modern, technologically sophisticated world is understanding that counting ballots takes longer in 2022 than it did in 1951.

Why can Argentina count 25–30 million paper ballots in hours, while certain areas, using machine ballots, take days to count a fraction of that number. How does one reconcile this? These types of rinky-dink elections with long “third world” delays are being normalized, but it’s far from normal, and we all know it.

There seems to be a willful blindness on the part of the American people, a chosen refusal to acknowledge the implications of the unAmerican and unConstitutional behaviors, actions and outcomes we are being served on a daily basis.

It can no longer be presumed to be a matter of, “I can’t see what’s happening”, because a whole lot of normal Americans really are clean and articulate.

“I can’t see it”,  just doesn’t cut it.

NONSENSE!  Most people can see it.  Most are just choosing to reconcile the irreconcilable, because it is more comforting to ignore the truth of it.  Just be honest.  For many people avoidance has become a survival mechanism.

It’s more along the lines of, “I see what’s happening, but it’s scary and complicated and confusing, and if I admit that I see it, I will become responsible in a way that I am not if I keep pretending I can’t see it or hear it or maybe I don’t understand it.”

So, I asked myself, what is worse, a stolen election or an electorate so insouciant and out to lunch that they would keep incumbents in office that  fervently believe that parents are bad citizens, are bad for children, and should have no say in their education (brainwashing), and that is demonizing normality and normalizing perversity?

Consider also the public’s dissatisfaction with out-of-control growth that is bringing our infrastructure to the breaking point, with no cap on property taxes, and more increases coming, the lack of transparency, the adoption of U.N Agenda 2030, and forced indoctrination of school children with transgender theory and critical race theory.

This election was a chance for voters to register their dissent, and according to the vote results they failed to do so. That begs the question: Are there enough patriots left in WashCo that care about their freedoms and liberty? Must we write off our fellow citizens as being too stupid to survive as a free people?

I’m no fan of early voting because it favors low agency voters. The main issue is the no-excuse universal mail-in ballots. I remember when the only way to vote early or mail-in your ballot was to fill out a form and give a valid excuse for not being able to vote locally on election day.

As everyone knows, democracy is when the establishment  holds unlimited power, and today that sacred foundation of our country is under attack from free speech. Democracy experts warned that democracy is under threat like never before as the populace is being allowed to say whatever they want to each other.  Said experts are recommending greater powers be given to the city and county governments to address the growing threats such as speech, opinions, people saying stuff, and bad inward thoughts that poison the mind against our benevolent overlords.

We’re already seeing that  policy manifesting itself  with the silencing of voters at city council and county commission meetings.

There’s nothing worse than being a threat to democracy. It’s the greatest of all sins. To ensure you aren’t a threat to democracy, keep an eye out for these troubling signs: You constantly correct people and tell them we’re a constitutional republic, not a democracy, and you question the results of elections when Rinos and Democrats win. That’s definitely a threat to democracy.  Finally, how dare you only wear ten masks in public and only get 10 COVID boosters? You’re gonna kill everybody!

It is really sad to see what is happening in so many towns across our country. The manipulating, the lying, the cheating, the secret deals behind closed doors, the harassing of the folks who do stand up, by the growth industry: developers, builders, banks, realtors, title companies, appraisers, home inspectors, etc., and the hospitality/tourism industry: lodging, restaurants, events, etc., and the multiple annual marathons, triathlons, senior games, etc., the High density housing…  Hence, the continual drive to bring people here to spend money, make them comfortable, and eventually live here. Water and traffic be damned. Get all they can, while they can.  Build and destroy….emulating failed states. Zero common-sense. Zero regard for anyone or anything.

These  are the people and entities that will make huge profits on the backs of the peons of WashCo. Who is paying for the acquisition costs for all their new business? YOU ARE. That’s crony socialism, in it’s purest sense.

Another example of the manipulation was the “Go-Bond” referendum. 12% of the population of St. George was duped into voting to raise their taxes, and stealing from their neighbors, to pay for paths and parks that most don’t use, but the proponents wanted, to attract “more people like us.” That’s also pure socialism, not to mention the bias and racism.

The Lord said that he “holds men accountable for their acts in relation” to governments “both in making laws and administering them”

All of those things are the polar opposite of the standard of righteousness that the Lord demanded from Lot, “Honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil” (D&C 98:10) Continued below on page 5…..

Ask yourself if we do that as a people. In our city councils, our county commissions, our state legislatures.

Do we know that the men & women we elect to represent us have the gift of prophecy & revelation. If they do, then you can know that they are in the spirit of liberty, which is the Spirit of Christ.

The past two generations have grown up under socialism’s influence so completely that we don’t even know when we’re thinking socialism.

In my opinion, a Spectrum editorial published back in May by Warren Wright, a resident of St. George, nails it: Entitled “The growth machine is doing its work on St. George and Washington County”, Wright writes:

“Business dealings were going well for the buyers and sellers, but not necessarily for “society as whole.” I found that our local Growth/Promotion Machine and Tourist Industry (GPMTI), pretty much had a monopoly on the major decision-making here in the St. George-Metro area — being the real power brokers, and sort of a “mutual admiration society.” … It seems back around 1970 changes began to take place. Instead of a “Protectorate,” land speculators, money-changers and promoters began having visions of dollars dancing in their heads and priorities changed to that of exploit rather than protect…. The common good has almost always been of secondary consideration to worshiping the false idols of money, prestige and notoriety…. The majority of residents here in Dixie don’t get giddy over every new scheme or event that comes down the pike and only brings more people, traffic congestion and increased social problems. Tens of millions of dollars have been foolishly spent over the years enticing people to visit and relocate here.”

In the past several decades, the motive of a Republican or Democrat politician advancing their influence by running for political office has absolutely nothing to do with representing the interests of the American people. NOTHING. Their interests are to engage within the business of politics, while presenting themselves as qualified actors to retain the premise of political service. The business of buying, selling and controlling policy, is the core operation of people within our political system.

Of course, that could never happen here.

Oops….  It just did.

Freedom is a word often thrown around by those inside the political sphere as they seek to retain the illusion of choice by controlling the population. However, freedom in its truest  sense is a battle cry of those who are ignored by the same control agents of government.I guess Thomas Jefferson was right after all. ‘The government you elect is the government you deserve.’ The parties hear you, voters. You just wait until the next election – they’ll have some real qualified nincompoops that will knock your socks off.
