“Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, spent some time on a Fox News show Monday morning.
Chaffetz spoke on a number of topics, including the House Oversight and Government Reform Commitee’s investigation into former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump amid Comey’s investigation into Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign’s connection to Russia.
Chaffetz told the Deseret News that his resignation is a “first step” to pursue other opportunities.
“Look, none of that can come to fruition until you actually go forward and make this announcement. Then you can pursue what those other opportunities may be,” Chaffetz said. “This is the first step.””
