Republican groups are launching millions of dollars’ worth of negative adverts against Donald Trump in the key state of Florida, in a ditch effort to stop the real-estate mogul from becoming the party’s presidential nominee
.The videos that are airing as Floridians prepare to vote in the crucial election next week, paint Mr Trump as a liberal, a barrow boy and, most damagingly in a region with a big military population, a “draft dodger”.
“Donald Trump hasn’t served this country a day in his life,” says Michael Waltz, a retired Special Forces colonel in one of the adverts. “Don’t let Trump fool you.”
