In the Book of Mormon there is a story where a prophet of God named Alma preaches to a people who believed that they “could not worship [their] God because [they were] cast out of [their] synagogues.”

Alma 33.Alma asked them to remember that when they were cast out and afflicted that they could still “cry unto the Lord,” and then God’s judgments could be “turned away …because of [God’s] Son.”

Alma then asks them to consider that Moses also spoke of the Son of God and how “a type was raised up in the wilderness, that whosoever would look upon it might live. And many did look and live.”

“But few understood the meaning of those things, and this because of the hardness of their hearts.”

He said, “plant this word in your hearts, and nourish it by your faith. And behold, it will become a tree, springing up in you unto everlasting life. And then may God grant unto you that your burdens may be light, through the joy of his Son.”

Because the judgments of God have come upon the people for their “unbelief,” Alma encourages the people to look to the Son of God and live.

Wear a mask… don’t wear a mask… but one thing is for sure, neither the mask nor the government is going to save our country from what is happening to the world right now.
