A party of 7 hikers gets caught in flash flooding, in Kane County.

A press release by the Kane County Search and Rescue says over the weekend multiple agencies responded to a call from an emergency beacon the group of 7 had activated. Originally the group had planned a 5 day excursion, but instead were caught in the deluge on Saturday. The group had to spend the night in the Buckskin gulch because rescuers were unable to reach them until the next day. Much of the groups gear was washed away, including shoes. The group was extracted successfully Sunday. Officials are reminding everyone to plan accordingly as flash flooding is prominent this time of year.
