In the past week I have discovered that many of Utah’s elected officials and citizens share a common goal; to advocate for the implementation of governmental policies that are in accord with the admonitions of our Church leaders.

I am therefore excited to see the tremendous efforts and energies that Utah’s citizens and elected leaders will shortly be dedicating to:

~reducing all federal spending, indebtedness and federal control of income tax revenue.

~eliminating Marxist teachers from schools and teaching faith in God.

“We are frankly gravely concerned over the increasing tendency of the Federal Government to assume more responsibilities with an everlasting indebtedness. In our judgment, the tendency of the Federal Government to more and more control the revenue of the country should be reversed, not increased.” President David O. McKay, published by permission of the First Presidency, The Church News Section of the Deseret News (11/10/1962).

“The real purpose of school… is to develop character, LOYALTY TO GOD, to the government, loyalty to home, and loyalty to the individual himself.” President David O. McKay, The Church News Section of the Deseret News (8/24/63).

“I love the Stars and Stripes, and the American Way of Life. I have FAITH IN THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. I believe that only through a truly educated citizenry can the IDEALS THAT INSPIRED the FOUNDING FATHERS of our Nation be preserved and perpetuated. I believe… fundamental elements in such education are… Open and forcible teaching of facts regarding COMMUNISM AS AN ENEMY TO GOD and to Individual Freedom.” President David O. McKay, The Church News Section of the Deseret News (8/24/63).

“During the past several years many of our institutions of learning have been turning out an increasing number of students schooled in amorality, relativity and atheism… students without an understanding of our constitutional republic.”

“…these false educational ideas are prevalent in the world, and we have not entirely escaped them among teachers in our own System. There area few teachers within the Church who while courting apostasy still want to remain members in the Church. For being a member makes them more effective in misleading the saints.” (Elder Benson, CR-10/64).
