1599 never happened in Scotland. James 6th decreed the day after December 31 1599 would be January 1, 1600, and so it was. Scotland and England had different years for winter from 1600 to December 1751.

Falkirk Moor, Scotland

Battle of Falkirk 17th January 1746 in Scotland, January 1745 in England.

1746 While besieging Stirling,  Charles (Jacobite) and Highlanders use stratagem to reach Falkirk Moor, an eminence above the royal camp (the Government Hanoverian, George 2nd  troops).  General Hawley (London government), surprised, hastened 3 regiments of dragoons to take back the high ground before the Highlanders occupy it.  The Highlanders (Jacobite) attacked in a wind and rain seldom unequalled, fired a volley, broke the dragoons, and rushed with claymores (swords) to rout the left.  Hawley withdrew to Linlithgow, leaving behind 400 or 500   killed wounded or prisoners. Tytler’s Britannica.

These events were and are referred to as ‘the ’45,’ an uprising against the Hanover King George 2nd, in favor of the Stuarts.  The battles were occurring in West England, and  Scotland, which recognized the year as 1746 beginning January 1st. However for the English (and in the American colonies), the year was still 1745 and would be so until March 24th, and the revolt, uprising, war, would be over within 3 weeks after the battle of Culloden. Hence the ’45 designated the revolt.  The panic (in London) which the ’45 caused, also stimulated the English government  (in London) to resolve to destroy all things Scots (clans, lordships, economy, farms, tartans, judgeships, religion, banking, families, and arms ) forcing hundreds of thousands to flee Scotland for North America, until about 1820.

1749 Charles Cochrane (b 12.01.1749, d 18.10.1781, Major) 2nd in command to Banastre Tarleton, Lt. Col. Dragoons, at capture of Gen. Charles Lee in Dec 1776 at Basking Ridge.  At raid with Tarleton on Charlottesville June 1781, Charles promoted to aide-de camp for Gen. Charles Cornwallis, killed at siege of Yorktown (beheaded) by cannon ball the day before surrender.  Major Cochrane was standing next to Cornwallis when the Major lost his head, the shock of which no doubt opened Cornwallis’ eyes to the need for immediate surrender, and the precarious situation to which the British had sunk.

1751 did not occur in England, Ireland, British North America, and British colonies, as 1751 only had 282 days due to the Calendar Act of 1750. 1751 ran from March 25th 1751 (Lady Day) to December 31st 1751, the next date being January 1st, 1752.  But this date in 1751 did occur in Scotland and most European countries.

That evening Alexander taught his mother, brothers, and sisters about “the origin of the Book of Mormon and the proof that the bible gave of it.” The little pamphlet he had sent his family two years before had ended up in the hands of his sister, Jean Wright, who kept house for a Presbyterian minister. Alexander learned that the minister wanted to see him: “I spent 2 hours with him I was enebled to answer all his questions and show him the order of the gospel by the asistance of the Lord. … I told him I had a testemoney such as paul told the church in his day was given them to save them from being caried about with every wind of doctren. … he concluded by asking me for a reed of the Book of Mormon which I promised him the first apertunity.” Pleased that many of his relatives had read A Voice of Warning, Alexander busily made the rounds of all his “conections and aquentences” and “improved every apertunity to mak nown my beleif” before returning to Edinburgh to join Samuel Mulliner.

How the Power of Two Terrorists Paralyzed the American Media in Fear  January 09, 2015

‘’RUSH: Everything the left touts as the answer to problems is on display as a giant failure in Paris.  Political correctness, gun control, demilitarizing or disarming the cops, open borders, amnesty, everything the left believes in, [is] on parade.  And that’s why they’re not talking about it.  That’s why their big concern is a backlash against militant Islamists and, of course, the rise to power of fringe conservative governance.’’
