From Beyoncé’s maple syrup diet to Gwyneth’s famous detoxes, there’s certainly no shortage of extreme eating regimes out there.

And if the A-list set are anything to go by, it seems we’re only too willing to give anything a try in the quest to shed a pound or two.

But these fad diets could be doing us more harm than good, leading to symptoms ranging from unpleasant – such as bad breath, irritability and fatigue – to dangerous, including dehydration or disfigurement.

Now a new infographic from homeware retailer Red Candy has detailed just how much damage they could be doing to your body.
