I’ve been to Washington DC precisely once in my life. It was part of a history trip I took with my eighth grade class. There were a lot of cool things I saw, but there is one landmark that we visited that stands out the most to me to this day: the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. There’s a special reverence about that place that sets it apart from anything else I saw in DC and it’s stuck with me, even after all these years.

Which is why I’m intrigued by this new documentary about those who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Honestly, I never really thought much about the details of what these men do on a day-to-day basis or even how you become a guard for the Unknowns. I certainly never considered how difficult it must be to qualify for the post (not that I thought it was easy – I just never actually thought about it).
