Christmas Tree Prices Up In Utah, Rest Of The West

Utahns looking to buy real Christmas trees for their homes should be prepared for a bit of sticker shock.  A combination of western wildfires and a changing marketplace have driven the cost of a typical tree up by 20-dollars or more.  One Utah Christmas tree lot operator says many tree farms got out of the business eight years ago because of the recession, leaving fewer trees on the market this year.  He adds that California retailers are paying whatever it takes to get trees shipped to them, leaving other western states with fewer trees and much higher prices.
