Bonjour Pierre Romney – Finally
by Ed Wallace, Publisher & Friends, Dec 31,2024
Ed’s note: I wrote this over a year ago, forgot about it, and found it while rummaging through my files. I don’t want to soil another year with Willard Mittens Romney in my brain. The only thing that makes me sad about his departure is that Utah voters were gullible enough to make the same mistake twice by electing John Curtis to replace him. (see Report: JOHN CURTIS EXPOSED: A Trail of Sexual Harassment, Incompetence, and Broken Contracts)
UnFair – Off Balance – UnMedicated
Don’t you just love America? You can be anything you want. You can say anything you want. You can live anywhere you want. You can change your mind anytime you want. You can pretend to be someone you’re not. You can be a chameleon, shape-shifting, multi-dimensional, time traveling shadow person, living in two places at one time, even though you are rarely seen, enough days of the year, to really qualify as a resident, in one place…. like, for instance, Utah. It’s like magic… POOF… here you are. WOW.
And so it was with Mitt Romney. And now… POOF… this human dollop of Miracle Whip is going away, finally, and trying to keep his dignity in the face of his latest humiliation. He’s finally calling it quits as a senator. Even the people of Utah, who have nearly infinite patience with establishment squishes, have had enough of this buffoon. He is the blow-dried embodiment of everything awful about the Republican Party establishment that used to be: condescending without any achievements to justify the attitude, confident in his own competence when he never managed to show any, and fussily certain of his own moral superiority for no apparent reason. Mitt Romney is a bad person who pretends to be a good person. The only good thing about him is the riddance.
Willard (he hates that name) gave us an exceptional moment of mask dropping for those of us who tried desperately to get people to understand the nature of the UniParty and Mitt Romney in 2012. Now, Utah Senator Mitt Romney says he would vote for a Democrat, even Joe Biden, before he would vote for President Trump or Vivek Ramaswamy.
“I’d be happy to vote for a number of the Democrats too. I mean, it would be an upgrade from, in my opinion, from Donald Trump, and perhaps also from Joe Biden,” Romney added. Showcasing once again how the professional GOP apparatus creates the illusion of choice through the cloistered two club system.
Keep in mind, Romney was the “approved Republican” in the 2012 field. Let these remarks stand as a bold underline to the true nature of the professional UniParty in Washington DC. “I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans, maybe not Vivek, but the others that are running would be acceptable to me, and I’d be happy to vote for them,” Romney said to CBS news host Norah O’Donnell.
Think about the nature of what Romney is really saying here. Vote for Chris Christie, Nikki Haley or Ron DeSantis, and if not – vote for a Democrat, because they are the same.
Do not be upset about Romney’s commentary. Instead, look at it carefully for the value it represents in trying to awaken people to the nature of the enemy that resides deep inside the Republican apparatus.
The damage Romney and his fellow RINO’s have done to our country and state is incaluable.
Romney is like Eddie Haskell with incredible hair, who believes in nothing except the desperate imperative of his own success. Mitt pulled himself up by his Gucci straps, unlike his nemesis JD Vance, who pulled himself up by his combat boot straps. Mitt couldn’t be troubled to serve in anything but his own cause. His only interaction with Vietnam was to ship American jobs there.
I think of Mitt as Judge Smails from “Caddyshack,” only less amusing and with more estrogen. The greatest danger Mitt Romney ever faced was getting a lumbar strain from cinching those mom jeans too tightly about his sternum, or scratching his paws while awkwardly shaking the rough hands of the farmers at the Iowa State Fair before running to his limo and getting the hell away from those people. Remember when he decided to go walk with the BLM scumbags? They were puzzled to see him there.
You might not have noticed, but Mitt Romney is white – so white that he thinks Canadians count as “diversity.” This was just more of his trademark posing, made even more laughable by its transparent insincerity. Like many of his clique, he wants to be down with the struggle, but from a safe distance. Romney is the kind of guy who would hang a sign reading, “In This House Black Lives Matter,” off his undocumented lawn jockey.
He was a complete empty vessel, and he tried to fill himself with whatever he thought was going to get him ahead. This was the guy who created the predicate to Obamacare – and only the Republicans could be a party stupid enough to nominate the guy who did that in a national election race where the marquee issue was opposition to Obamacare.
Romney had a pro-abortion record but has claimed to be “pro-life” since 2005. He acknowledges global warming but says that he doesn’t know how much is due to human activity. He appointed pro-gay rights and pro-choice state Supreme Court justices. His wife donated to planned parenthood. Romney was criticized for standing behind his 2005 health care plan in Massachusetts whilst pledging to “replace” ObamaCare during his campaign for president in 2012. And, in 2015, he finally took credit for creating a hybrid beast that Tim Pawlenty dubbed “Obamneycare, that eventually became Obamacare.
Conservapedia states: “Romney has been observed to not hold any values, instead being an opportunist who takes whatever political position suits him best at the moment. He has voiced contradicting positions on topics as diverse as abortion, homosexual “rights,” illegal immigration, gun control and even support for Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. Thus, with good reason, conservatives see Romney’s core beliefs as only marginally different from that of globalist Democrats such as Obama.”
Some thought that he would fight for the little people and help them afford to feed their families and own a home and protect their constitutional and God-given rights. In reality, all of the unwashed masses will be out there working hard to support fat bloated government paychecks and fat bloated government projects.
All of the people with dirt underneath their fingernails, who use their bodies to eek out a meager living and who don’t get to take power lunches, who have illnesses and have lost their homes because they can’t afford to pay their medical bills, who are self-employed and are taking it in the “shorts” because of the high taxes and excessive government regulations, and the hard-working middle class Americans who make this country great…despite all the restrictions and taxes and the task masters who make it difficult for us to feed our families, we will all have less liberty and freedom. Why? Because of the entrenched globalists like Mitt Romney.
Romney was never really a businessman at all. He was an LBO strip-mining artist who rode the first Greenspan Bubble to riches between 1987 and 2000. Yet in the overwhelming share of the 77 investment deals he oversaw during that period, he left behind financial cripples, zombies and Chapter Eleven bait.
During his 16-years at Bain Capital, fully one-fourth or $600 million of the firm’s cumulative $2.5 billion of profits were scalped from companies which went bankrupt soon after Mitt and his partners got out of town with the loot.
Newsweek says “Mitt Romney was not a businessman; he was a master financial speculator who bought, sold, flipped, and stripped businesses. He did not build enterprises the old-fashioned way—out of inspiration, perspiration, and a long slog in the free market fostering a new product, service, or process of production.”
You hear from a few folks that Mitt Romney is a genuinely good man, but I haven’t seen it. All I’ve seen is pure ambition. He worked for Bain Capital gutting our country and ruining Americans’ lives. He’s a neocon echo chamber who has not the slightest grasp that the Washington War Party is ransacking the world and bankrupting the nation.
Lou Dobbs from Fox News lashed out at Romney: “He is a treacherous fool. He’s reprehensible. I can’t believe the people of Utah elected this creep.” Dobbs also ripped Romney for acting “petty” and “small” in his criticism of President Trump. Dobbs was incredulous when Republican strategist Ed Rollins told him Trump endorsed Romney ahead of the 2018 election. “You mean the people of Utah didn’t know that he was anti-Trump,” he said to Rollins. “He didn’t run against Trump. He ran with Trump. So he’s lied to the people of Utah.” The man is as game-playing flopping political fish as they come.
The most glaring example is Mitt Romney’s creation of a alias, “Pierre Delightful”, for the sole purpose of bolstering his 18% approval rating among Utah voters AFTER he said “I’m sickened by Trump’s dishonesty”, called our President a phony and a fraud, and begged him for a job and endorsement. In a Fox appearance, Pierre argued: “If we are going to have unity in our country, I think it’s important to recognize the need for accountability, for truth and justice.” Didn’t that same standard apply to you, Senator?
It took a writer at Slate about fourteen seconds to discover that Mitt Romney, a sitting United States Senator, used the name Pierre Delecto to run all around Twitter defending… Mitt Romney.
“Pierre Delecto???” Sounds like Mitt Romney’s porn name or something. A phony account by a phony person that gives phony praises and likes to himself. Carly Simon is singing “You’re So Vain”. And Mittens is singing, “I’m So Pretty!!” Can you say narcissist? Using a fake account to “Like” his own official tweets and lend support to his own criticisms of Trump. Talk about vanity.
Dan Bongino said Mitt Romney Represents The “Swamp Rat Republicans“ Bongino said Romney is a “sell out” and a “fraud” and “the kind of guy who has absolutely decimated the Republican Party. When there is a museum left to the remnant of the swamp GOP and we’re all walking through this museum in 30 years of what used to be the GOP, exhibit one will be Mitt Romney, followed closely by Jeff Flake.”
Romney jumped (incorrectly) to the conclusion that he would gain traction in Utah by attacking Trump in a way that he never dared attack Barack Obama during the 2012 presidential election. Romney was doomed in that election due to a severe shortage of cojones. He allowed Obama to attack at will and put up no defense or offense of his own.
Romney got Trump’s endorsement before the UTGOP convention, got signatures to be on the ballot and contributed to the weakening of our Republic. Many Utahns wouldn’t support him for Senator in the primaries because he didn’t stand on the GOP platform.
Romney’s own niece, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel, slammed her uncle Mitt Romney for Trump criticism:. “For an incoming Republican freshman senator to attack @realdonaldtrump as their first act feeds into what the Democrats and media want and is disappointing and unproductive.”
He used his seat as a launchpad for a 2020 Presidential bid and build a base by fooling Utahns and seducing anti-Trump people into supporting him. Everything is a triangulation with Romney. He uses the few things that he has done right to cover his countless fouls. Now, he will add his representation of Utah to his failures.
Where was the Republican Party of Utah? Why wasn’t Romney removed by the Utah GOP? We all know he is a Democrat at heart but yet the Utah GOP would still not put forth legislation to have him removed. So what does this ultimately tell us about the Utah GOP? Governor Cox is cut from the same cloth as Romney! They are both Never Trumpers, they are both Globalists!
The Utah GOP never censured Romney even though they had great cause. After two years of trying to work inside the party to do that, I and a few others were able to accomplish that within the only conservative GOP opposition group in Utah, the Utah Platform Republicans PAC.
Mitt Romney wants to be deeply loved and tried really hard and did everything he could to be relevant. He’s a three-time loser who has never won a national election and actually lost to arguably the worst and destructive President our country has ever had (a two-time loser even before 2016… a three-time loser after he came out basically supporting Hillary). The only thing that makes Romney relevant are the 665,000 Utah voters who were duped into sending him to Washington to supposedly represent their values.
Utahns were hoping that Romney would rise to the occasion. Instead, his actions proved that he is short on character and unable to rise to the mantle of his own office.
Romney hates the Utah caucus system and feels that it was beneath him. He hated our values so much that his family gave $140,000 to the Count My Vote people to gather signatures for him thus funding the signature gathering process.
Under the guise of fairness and inclusion, CMV was really the diabolical usurpation of Utah’s democracy by special interests, namely Romney, the Hatch Election committee and the Leavitt’s ($50k each), and the Huntsman Corp who donated $100,000 It was the largest fraud and manipulation that has ever been launched against Utah citizens, and it was very successful. They lied to the voters of Ewetah.
It’s the biggest election fraud scam to ever hit Utah and it was funded by Mitt Romney. Yup, Romney did just that. He did that all and got elected from Utah. The Romney’s moved to Utah a few months after SB54 became law. He soon began his Senate campaign. Coincidence?
SB54 was initiated and passed BY OUR REPUBLICAN LEADERS who claimed to represent us. It started with the GOP convention loss by Senator Bob Bennett. The last thing Utah’s puppet masters wanted was for the citizens of Utah to have a deciding voice through the caucus/convention system.
They took away the right of a political party to choose their own candidate. Now, Bernie Sanders could buy a ¼ acre in the West desert, spend a few $100k to gather signatures, and declare himself a Republican. Yup, Romney did that
The dirty elephant in the room is that the rank & file of the Utah GOP has not been dealing with rational and honorable people within its own leadership. Our party deserves to be led and represented by like-minded people who will stand up and defend the principles of our party and who are AT LEAST as honorable and reasonable as we are.
Our party is infested with politicians who claim to be conservative Republicans but govern like Democrats. Romney actually received an award from a Democrat institution for acting like a Democrat and stabbing our President and party in the back.
We don’t need any more people who pretend to be Republicans. We need leaders who will stand firm for our party, our platform, AND our President.
As our junior Senator Willard “Mitt” Romney might say: Our party is “severely divided.” It’s been divided by our leaders and elected politicians who have essentially left our party, evidenced by the way they govern, by their words, and by their actions.
In the case of Mitt Romney, many supported him based upon that thin layer of benefit of the doubt by trusting and believing his campaign slogans and statements because he appeared to be a nice guy. And, he has nice hair. And, he’s a Mormon. Utahns love a Mormon who is a nice guy, with coiffed hair. This political princess used Utah to recycle his political career
Hasn’t Utah had enough of the nice guys in politics who advertise they have integrity while they have their hands in our wallet so they can fund their causes and make sure their families and the people who are friends and buddies are taken care of?
There will be many of us happy to see him go down in flames when all he had to do was listen and demonstrate a bit of humility. He was handed a seat in the U.S. Senate. Had he rolled up his sleeves, gained a reputation as a hard working Senator…in a few years, people would be begging him to run for President again.
Romney just might be the most hated and despised elected leader in the GOP. It’s been sad to see his transformation from elder statesman and former Republicans Party leader from 2012-2019 to being the most loathed by Republicans and for good reason. Can’t imagine why he would want that to be his legacy.
To someone like Mitt, a man with an extreme personality deficit, Biden might seem charming.
Ever notice that Mitt only brings up “character” for his objections to Donald Trump, the man?
Has anyone ever seen one instance of Romney stating exactly which of Trump’s policies he finds so objectionable?
He can’t, because the Trump policies are favored by most Americans, even some Americans who don’t realize it.
Mitt does not want to tell the Republican voters that he doesn’t have their interests in mind, so he resorts to ad hominem attacks on Trump and on us.
His departure is cause for celebration.
“Utah got what they paid for…a cheap politician.”
Good riddance, Mittens
