The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, but the government increasingly tries to limit that right as only freedom of worship, Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., told me in an on-camera interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC16.

There is a big difference, he explained, pointing to a big reason to understand that.

“For whatever reason, the generation that’s coming up is afraid of faith,” Lankford told me. “[But] it’s not just that individuals can have faith, they can also live their faith. And also in America, you don’t have to have a faith at all. You’re not un-American because you have no faith.”

See why he says some in power want atheism to be the state religion.
