1326 Invasion of England (1326) Isabella of France the She-wolf of France, was Queen consort takes over as Bristol falls and pursues Edward II of England. Hugh de Despenser the elder continued to hold Bristol against Isabella and Mortimer, who placed it under siege between 18–26 October; when it fell, Isabella was able to recover her daughters Eleanor and Joan.

1605 William Parker, 13th Baron Morley 4th Baron Monteagle (1575 – 1 July 1622) was an English peer, Lord of Morley, Hingham, Hockering, &c. He was allied with many Roman Catholic families, and during the reign of Elizabeth I was in sympathy with their cause. He was knighted while with Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex in Ireland in 1599, and in 1601 Morley took part in the Essex’s rebellion in London. Morley was punished by imprisonment and a fine of £8,000. Morley subsequently in 1602 joined in sending the mission to Spain inviting Philip III to invade England. Morley knew Robert Catesby and others, and according to Father Garnet expressed an opinion some few months before the Gunpowder Plot that the Romanists had a good opportunity of making good their claims. received a summons [King James 1st of England, 6th of Scotland] to attend the parliament of the 5th of November 1605 as Lord Monteagle. On 26 October 1605, while sitting at supper at Hoxton, Morley received a letter warning of the gunpowder plot, perhaps written by Sir Francis Tresham. After having caused it to be read aloud by Ward, a gentleman in Morley’s service and an intimate friend of Robert Wintour, one of the chief conspirators, he took it to Whitehall and showed it to Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury.

1868 Donald Smith died. Donald SMITH, a woolen weaver and cottar (peasant farmer) was born 1 Jan 1835 to Duncan Smith and Henrietta MacSwane, the second of their nine children. Donald was tragically lost at the young age of 34 in Broadbay, off Vatisker Point in Stornoway, when a squall of wind overturned his open boat the evening of 26 Oct 1868.

He left behind a widow, Mary Macaurey, and four young children to carry on the family croft. Great Grandfather of Donald John Trump.
