November 15 – 1996 After 1296 removal by Edward I, the Stone of monastery of Scone, returned to Edinburgh Castle, leaves Westminster Abbey. (Edward became the ancestor of James 2nd Stewart King of Scots, and all subsequent Scots royalty.) Westminster Stone theory, auld Red Sandstone Stone of Jacob, Jacob’s Pillow Stone (described in Genesis), Tanist Stone, Stone of Destiny, The Stone of Jacob was brought to Ireland by the prophet Jeremiah and from thence to Scotland. British Israelism, consider the British monarchy as the legitimate heir to the ancient Israelite royalty.

Theatrical release poster. The plot is the (re)theft of the Stone of Scone on Christmas Day, 1950. The stone was the pillow stone used by Jacob in the Bible and the stone over which Scottish Kings were traditionally crowned at Scone in Perthshire. Seized in 1296, Edward 1st placed it under the throne at Westminster Abbey in London, where the English Kings were enthroned. By 1950, a nationalist plot succeeded in removing it from Westminster Abbey and returning it to Scotland where it was placed symbolically at Arbroath Abbey, the site of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath and an important site in the Scottish nationalist cause.

1469 Margaret de Baux, Countess of Saint-Pol, of Brienne, and of Conversano, sometimes known as Margherita del Balzo (1394- 15 November 1469), was a member of the noble del Balzo (de Baux) family of the Kingdom of Naples, which had its origins in Provence dating back to the 11th Century. Her husband was Peter of Luxembourg, Count of Saint-Pol, of Brienne, and of Conversano (1390- 31 August 1433). Margaret’s descendants include English Queen Consort Elizabeth Woodville, King Henry IV of France, Mary Queen of Scots, and all English monarchs after 1509, and Scots monarchs after 1513.

1580 RUTHVEN, WILLIAM, 4th Lord Ruthven and 1st Earl of Gowrie (1541?–1584), Provost and Lieutenant of Perth (ancient capitol of Scotland before Edinburgh took over), and master of Oliphant, bound over by the council to keep the peace (ib. iii. 329). Ultimately the master in March 1582 went to the lodgings of Ruthven in Edinburgh without sword or weapon, and offered himself to his will. Gowrie had long been at feud with James, 4th lord Oliphant, a supporter of Queen Mary, and while returning in October 1580 from Kincardine, where he had been at the marriage of the Earl of Mar, Gowrie happened to pass near the house of Lord Oliphant at Dupplin, whereupon he was pursued by Lord Oliphant, and his kinsman, Alexander Stewart, shot dead with a hacbut. Ruthven (Gowrie) pursued the master of Oliphant at law for the slaughter.

1794 John Witherspoon died – a signatory of the Declaration of Independence of the united states of America, as a representative of New Jersey. Ancestor of actress Reese Witherspoon. John, born at Gifford, a parish of Yester, at East Lothian, Scotland, as the eldest child of the Reverend James Alexander Witherspoon and Anne Walker, was a descendant of John Welsh of Ayr and John Knox. From 1758-1768, John Witherspoon was Presbyterian minister of the Laigh kirk, Paisley (Low Kirk). Awarded a Master of Arts, Bachelor of Divinity, and Doctorate of Divinity from the University of St Andrews, Fife. At the urging of Benjamin Rush and Richard Stockton, whom he met in Paisley, Witherspoon accepted another invitation (he had earlier turned one down in 1766) to become President and head professor of the Presbyterian College of New Jersey in Princeton.

6th president of the College of New Jersey (1768–94; now Princeton University), John became a Church of Scotland (Presbyterian) minister at Beith, Ayrshire (1745–1758), where he married Elizabeth Montgomery of Craighouse. Scottish Americans, “I was also present [August 22, 23, 1877] in the St. George Temple and witnessed the appearance of the Spirits *** And also others,*** .Who came to Wilford Woodruff and demanded that their baptism and endowments be done. Wilford Woodruff was baptized for all of them. *** . 1923 – The German Rentenmark is introduced in Germany to counter Inflation in the Weimar Republic. The inflation, which lasted about 6 months confiscated all deposits, savings, pensions, annuities, insurance, alimony, oaths, promises to buy and sell, tuition, and inheritances denominated in Marks. Germany returned to a barter economy, but was left with the civil war between the Communists, National Socialists (Nazis), and Christians, among others. Hitler’s Nazis outmaneuvered the others, eventually dragging Germany into world war with Scotland, and 60 other nations.

For seven centuries Kings of Scots had been set on the Stone during their inauguration. The legend was this was the stone Jacob slept his head on as recorded in Genesis.
