Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Dog With Garden Shears.

A St. George man is pleading guilty to killing a neighbor’s dog with a tool used for pruning trees and bushes.  Kenyon Benson decided to plead guilty yesterday to a misdemeanor charge of aggravated animal cruelty yesterday.  Benson was accused of swinging a pair of pruning shears at a small dog that entered his yard last year, hitting it in the head and killing it.  Prosecutors recommended that Benson have a 90-day jail term suspended in return for the plea.  He will also have to pay restitution and write a letter of apology to the girl who owned the dog.
