Jury Duty Scam Making Rounds In Iron County
Jury Duty Scam Making Rounds In Iron County
Authorities are warning people living in Cedar City and Iron County about a scam making the rounds there. Scammers are reportedly calling people, saying they have missed jury duty and need to get a prepaid card to immediately pay a fine. The callers are then told to give the number to another person and the card is almost instantly emptied. Authorities say they’ve gotten several reports of this call over the last few days. You’re reminded that police or the sheriff’s office would never ask you to pay a fine in this manner and would come to you in person.
