1722 Born.  ‘Robert Smith Here stood the home of colonial Philadelphia’s leading architect and builder. Born Jan. 14, 1722 at Dalkeith, Scotland, he died Feb. 11, 1777. Among his buildings are the Christ Church steeple, St. Peter’s Church, the Walnut Street Prison, and Carpenters’ Hall.’

1750 – [Robert Miller III] (clan Stewart, Lockhart, Hunter, Cochrane, Meldrum) ‘This sermon was delivered in St. John’s Church, Charles Town, on Sunday the 14th January 1750 and in the Chapel the 11^th  of February 1750.’ manuscript sermons, yellowed but still entirely legible, in the possession of Col. Francis Pickens Miller in 1970, was delivered before leaving Scotland.

1751 did not occur in England, Ireland, British North America, and British colonies, as 1751 only had 282 days due to the Calendar Act of 1750. 1751 ran from March 25^th 1751 (Lady Day) to December 31^st 1751, the next date being January 1^st, 1752.  But this date in 1751 did occur in Scotland and most European countries.

1840. Glasgow and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Samuel Mulliner (b. 1809), and Alexander Wright (b. 1804), Scots, arrive as missionaries. [Ensign Feb. 1987]. The two elders turned energetically to public preaching. Samuel had already begun work in the neighborhood of Glasgow with a systematic plan to cover Scotland from west to east.At Bishopton he met with one James Lea, an English convert who had moved to Scotland as a railway timekeeper. Lea introduced Samuel to some friends—Alexander Hay and his wife Jessie—who were baptized in the River Clyde on January 14, the first Scottish converts.Samuel Mulliner also conducted the first sacrament service in Scotland, with the Hays and their children.
