Well, it’s official. Ted Cruz won the majority of delegate slots at Virginia’s GOP convention.

The AP reports:

Cruz supporters won 10 of the 13 at-large delegates elected Saturday at the Republican Party of Virginia’s statewide convention at James Madison University in Harrisonburg.

While this doesn’t seem like a big deal, if Cruz can stop Trump in Indiana and bring this thing to a contested convention, these delegates will play a crucial role. However, if Trump reaches 1,237 beforehand, none of this will matter. As the AP notes (emphasis mine), “Virginia delegates will only be free to support whomever they choose after the first round of voting at the national convention.”
