Debate grades: Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump pass, Lester Holt fails – “So the first presidential debate has concluded and the verdict is in: NBC News host and moderator Lester Holt got the message, go after Donald Trump. If you liked Mr. Trump before the contest, you probably think he withstood the fire just fine. If you preferred Hillary Clinton, she’s clearly the winner. Bottom line: No independent minds have been changed. Here’s the debate round-up, graded, from Mr. Holt and the candidates, to the school.”

About tonight’s horrific spectacle: – “For the first 30 minutes, Trump was great. In fact I was legitimately impressed. He put Hillary on the defensive and she responded by cackling and stammering and flashing an evil grin like Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Hillary is absolutely awful when you take her off her script. She knows how to do what she practiced, but she doesn’t know how to respond like a regular human person when she’s backed into a corner. ”

Twitter Poll: Lester Holt Gets a ‘D Grade’ from Viewers – “An overwhelming 47% voted that Lester Holt, the NBC News moderator for last night’s presidential debate, got a ‘D’ grade. 24% voted a ‘C’ grade, 18% a ‘B’ grade and 11% ‘A’ grade. There were 3,692 Twitter users who voted in the poll. Not pictured are the 25 tweets which asked why there wasn’t a ‘F’ grade for Holt’s performance.”

Lester Holt “became [Clinton’s] Real-Time Fact-Checker”, says AIM Chairman – ““I was somewhat optimistic before the debate that Lester Holt would be a fair and balanced moderator, but instead he appeared to have listened to the Clinton camp’s complaints that she would be treated harsher than Trump as he spent more time questioning Trump’s claims than Clinton’s during the evening,””

Trump Interrupted by Moderator Lester Holt 30 Times, Clinton Only 19 Times – “Lester Holt, by Vox Media’s county, interrupted Donald Trump during the debate 30 times. However, Holt only interrupted Hillary Clinton 19 times. But Vox focused on how Trump interrupted Clinton, yet ignored how the moderator continued to interrupt Trump. Hmm…”

67% of Twitter Poll Respondents say Trump Won Last Night’s Debate in Twitter Poll– “Take it for what it is worth, but 67% of Twitter poll respondents said that Donald Trump won the debate, compared to 18% for Hillary Clinton and 15% for the liberal mainstream media.”

Hillary Clinton And Donald Trump’s 1st (Biased?) Debate Performances In A Nutshell – “Trump showed a different side of himself during the debate. He came off as very presidential and spoke more substantively on the issues. Because he allowed Clinton to get under his skin a bit and put him on the defensive, Trump probably wanted to really rip into her like he said he thought of doing during the debate. He didn’t. Trump showed restrain and I believe he won the debate simply for not blowing up on Clinton. She did well. Very well. Of course she would do well, this is what she does. This is who she is, a great debater.”

Five Times Lester Holt Shilled for Hillary Clinton at First Debate – “Again and again, Holt asked Trump tough questions that were straight from the Clinton campaign’s talking points, and which were obvious set-ups for Clinton to attack (and for fact-checkers to pounce on whatever Trump asserted in his own defense).”

Fact-Wreak: Fact-Checking the Fact-Checkers at First Debate – “It happens thus: Holt introduces, matter-of-factly, the premise that Trump supported the Iraq War. Trump pushes back, calling it “mainstream media nonsense.” Trump burns two minutes explaining how he did not support the war, citing Howard Stern and Sean Hannity. At the end, Holt repeats the allegation again anyway.”

Winner of last night’s debate was Lester Holt – “I won’t go over everything NBC moderator Lester Holt did to tilt the debate to Hillary. Others are covering his performance. I’ll point out one vital thing. It happened right at the beginning. Holt framed the debate by stating that the US economy, particularly employment, has recovered well since the 2007-8 meltdown. Of course, he lied. When you factor in how many people now have low-paying jobs who formerly had good jobs; and when you also consider that people who give up trying to find jobs are eventually no longer listed as unemployed, you get the true picture: the US economy hasn’t recovered. Not by a long shot.”
