Donald Trump is facing some fierce opposition from his own party even though he is the only Republican left in the race.

Senior lawmakers are very hesitant to endorse him, party officials said they will skip the convention and others have pondered a third-party bid.

House Speaker Paul Ryan said he is “just not ready” to support Trump. So far he is the highest elected Republican official to raise concerns about him.

During an interview with CNN, Ryan said he wants Trump to unify “all wings of the Republican Party and the conservative movement” and then run a campaign that will allow people to “have something they’re proud and proud to be a part of.” Ryan added “and we’ve got a ways to go from here to there.”

CNN also reached out to 16 Republican elected officials, leaders and major fundraisers associated with Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. None of them said they are planning to go to the Republican convention this year. They said they were not yet supporting Trump.

Mitt Romney, John McCain, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush said they are planning to skip the convention as well.

Some republican senators are also not supporting Trump and it has been reported some Congress members are have joined forces to recruit a third-party candidate.

A lot of voters are also declaring they will not support Trump. Many have started to look at Libertarian candidates and others have stated they will not vote at all.

When asked why they are not voting for Trump they said he is essentially just like Hillary Clinton. They say Trump and Clinton have essentially the same views so to them voting for Trump would be the same as voting for a Democrat and they refuse to be a part of it.

It doesn’t help that some Trump supporters are also attacking former Cruz supporters and trying to strong arm them to support their candidate.

Last time I checked, that is not the way to get someone to do something you want them to do.
