ALERT: TDS Upgrade Scam in Hurricane
Attention TDS customers: Equipment upgrade scam
It has come to our attention that an individual in the Hurricane area is going door-to-door saying AT&T has purchased TDS and the customer needs to update their equipment. The sales person requests a credit card to pay for the new equipment.
These operators have no ID. Please note that TDS employees wear TDS apparel, a name badge, and they also will provide customers with an identification card. Please be on the alert of this situation happening now in Hurricane.
We encouraged the customer to alert the local authorities and to take steps to protect their credit card from fraudulent charges. In the meantime please be cautious. For your own privacy and security, we do not recommend you invite a person in to your home to discuss communication services.
