Noted activist Tom DeWeese will give a presentation, “How to Fight Back on the Local Level” tonight, 7pm at the Red Lion Inn, 850 S Bluff, in St George. The event is free and is hosted by WashCo based Citizens For Constitutional Government and is co-sponsored by UtahStandardNews.com. Tom DeWeese is one of the nation’s leading advocates of individual liberty, free enterprise, private property rights, personal privacy, back-to-basics education, and American sovereignty and independence.

For over 45 years Tom DeWeese has been a businessman, grassroots activist, writer and publisher. As such, he has always advocated a firm belief in man’s need to keep moving forward while protecting our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights of property and individual freedom.

He was one of the first to voice concern over the radical agenda of the environmental movement and to question its motives. Since 1992 he has been sounding the alarm against the UN’s Agenda 21 and its policy of Sustainable Development as a threat to private property rights, free markets and American sovereignty and independence.

In 1988 Tom established the American Policy Center (APC), the only national organization that has made the stopping of Agenda 21 its prime mission in order to preserve American property rights. In 1992, he became passionately involved in the fight for the preservation of American private property rights and against intrusive environmental regulations. He is also a recognized leader in the fight to preserve American national sovereignty from intrusive United Nations’ policies on global governance.

Under the leadership of Tom DeWeese, APC has joined the fight to rescue American education from federal intrusion and behavior-modification programs like Goals 2000, School-to-Work and Outcome-based Education. Most recently APC has become involved in the fight for American privacy rights against intrusive government data banks.

Tom has traveled to nearly every state speaking out on the threat of UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development Policy. He has testified before local and state elected officials, while appearing on countless national and local radio and television programs.

His first book titled Now Tell Me I was Wrong, details a wide variety of related issues including property rights, radical environmentalism, public education and personal privacy issues. He has written hundreds of articles that have been published in national and local publications reaching millions of readers including Fox News and the Michael Reagan Show, and has been quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.

The National Republican Party used APC materials to prepare and include an anti-Agenda 21 plank in its platform. The State of Alabama used APC materials to become the first state in the nation to pass legislation to ban Agenda 21. Activists in Denmark have produced several anti-Agenda 21 videos featuring APC materials, including distributing Tom DeWeese’s book, Sustainable to Denmark’s Prime Minister and to every mayor in Denmark. A senator in Australia has used APC materials to build opposition in that country. In Brazil, APC materials have been translated to Portuguese and widely distributed to help build a large opposition in that country.
