“[C]ountries celebrated for their handling of the pandemic are seeing a resurgence in Covid-19 cases.”

Since approximately 1829, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has called and invited all of its young men (and subsequently its young women) to undertake a rite of passage – to serve for two years as missionaries. Currently the Church has 67,000 missionaries in 160 different countries, speaking more than 178 different languages.

These young men and women have been asked to help the Church fulfill its mission – to go “into all the world to preach [the] gospel unto every creature.” D&C 18:28 (1829).

In 1831, Joseph Smith wrote that the purpose of this missionary work was to “recover [God’s] people, which are of the house of Israel,” “build up [God’s] church,” and to “bring forth Zion.” D&C 39. Joseph then claimed that he received a revelation from God that this work would “go forth into all nations.” D&C 39:15.

Joseph also wrote that this would be the last time that the “vineyard” (the world) would be “pruned.” In other words, this would be the last time that God would call, instruct and empower his disciples to teach and gather his children prior to “the time of [His] coming.” D&C 39: 17 and 20.

Joseph then wrote that if the people and the nations of the earth would accept the “fulness of [the] gospel [of Jesus Christ],” and would live by pure and true principles, that God could stay the inevitable destruction that awaits all morally and spiritually destitute nations. D&C 39:18. The earth’s tumultuous behaviors were God’s warnings and signs that the natural consequences of bad behavior were imminent. Therefore, when God “send[s] forth judgments,” He does so to help his children avoid the eternal immutable consequence of bad living, i.e. death, misery and captivity. The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 2:27.

While God was using these prophesied judgments in “righteousness” and for “victory,” Satan would also be “abroad in the land, and [would] goeth forth deceiving the nations.” D&C 52:11 and 14 (1831).

‘It is not hard to imagine that the enemy of God would want to create a narrative and belief system regarding the nature and origin of God’s “judgments” that would prevent people from knowing “the promises of the Lord,” and “believ[ing] the gospel and rely[ing] upon the merits of Jesus Christ.” D&C 3:20 (1828).

‘For example, despite their overwhelmingly LDS leanings, not one of our local legislators has called upon the people of Utah to renew their commitment to God and principles of righteous government to save our communities. Instead, our Utah legislators have unanimously supported using the Covid-19 pandemic to participate in a massive scheme of theft and corruption, violated their oaths of office and dealt one of, if not the, greatest blows to state sovereignty in the history of our state. ‘

See the Utah Legislature’s multi-billion dollar scheme here: https://le.utah.gov/~2020S4/bills/static/HB4001.html.

‘The acceptance of this federal money is why the state “MUST establish minimum standards to address a statewide emergency,” and it is also why the whole western world appears to be following the same playbook. See Executive Order 2020-44 and its predecessors. See https://rules.utah.gov/…/Utah-Executive-Order-No.-44.pdf. ‘

Similarly, and this is less surprising, our United States Congress has taken its whore mongering to a new level that can only be matched by its insatiable appetite for war spending; just two weeks ago Congress allowed the US Department of Health and Human Services to give $6.1 Billion dollars of America’s future to approximately 9 different BigPharma companies for COVID-19 vaccines. See https://www.fool.com/…/surprise-heres-how-much-a…. ‘

It is a testament to the reality and truth of Joseph Smith’s prophetic gift that in 1833 he prophesied that, “In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days,” Latter-Day Saints were advised to adopt a strict law of diet and health. This warning and law of health in the Doctrine and Covenants Section 89 also contained promises of “temporal salvation” specifically designated to help us get through the troublesome times in which we now live.

Given the rampant deception and corruption in government that would exist in our time, and because people would begin to invest their faith and worship in government (See Bible, Revelation 13), God revealed to Joseph a “pattern” to avoid being deceived. D&C 52:14. That pattern was that the true followers of God would be contrite, their language meek and “edifying” (substantively instructive and causing improvement), and they would produce “fruits of praise and wisdom.” Conversely, anyone who was deceived would lack humility and contrition; their language would be hard and unfulfilling; they would spread scorn; and their knowledge and learning would be used for depravity. D&C 52:18 (implying that they are “overcome” by “spirits,” i.e. tempers, sentiments, occasions, desires, etc. that are not edifying).

Since its publication in 1830, the Book of Mormon and Latter-Day prophets have warned of a modern day of almost universal political corruption. They have admonished us that when we would see that day arrive that we should wake up and do everything in our power to undo the decades of political neglect and ignorance or we would face destruction. Book of Mormon, Ether 8:23-25.

“And inasmuch as they do repent and receive the fulness of my gospel, and become sanctified, I will stay mine hand in judgment.” D&C 39:18 (1831).

Finally, and perhaps most timely and relevant, Joseph Smith wrote that after “a little while” “a desolating scourge shall go forth among the inhabitants of the earth, and shall continue to be poured out FROM TIME TO TIME, if they repent not, until the earth is empty, and the inhabitants thereof are consumed away and utterly destroyed by the brightness of my coming.” D&C 5:19.
