For $30,000, you can dress like Prince
Music memorabilia collectors can party like it’s 1999 when nearly 100 items from Prince’s personal life and performances will go to auction.
The items are from the collection of Mayte Garcia, the pop star’s first wife, and his former manager, Owen Husney. Los Angeles-based Nate D. Sanders Auctions will open the items for online bidding on March 17.
Most of the items are pieces of Prince’s iconic fashion, from variations of his signature ruffle shirt, bell-bottom pants and high-heel shoes, to the electric blue shirt and pants he wore on the cover of his 1999 album, “Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic.” Base bids for these outfits range from $5,000 to $30,000.
