Idaho concealed-carry bill on way to governor
Three high-profile Republican House members opposed a bill that would allow permitless concealed-carry throughout Idaho, but the measure passed easily.
Despite the opposition from most House Democrats and Reps. Maxine Bell (R-Jerome), Fred Wood (R-Burley) and Rep. Rich Wills (R-Glenns Ferry), the bill cleared the chamber 54-14 on Friday and now moves to Gov. Butch Otter’s desk for his consideration
.The bill would give Idahoans 21 years of age and older the right to conceal-carry firearms without a statewide permit, something they’ve only been able to do outside city limits.
Idahoans ages 18 to 20 would still have to take a safety training class and pay a fee to secure a permit if they want to conceal firearms inside city limits. This age group is still allowed to conceal firearms outside of city limits.
