The state of Utah wants to pass a law preventing cities from banning short term rentals. I support this. Not all cities and towns have a problem with short term rentals. Where I live there is a problem. Well, a perceived problem. In a Facebook discussion with the mayor and one of the city councilmen, it became very clear that well meaning as they may be, they’ve bought the line that government should do something when a neighbor is unhappy that someone on their block is using their home for short term rentals. Government is enabling neighbors to disagree by behaving like parents with children who can’t get along.

Government needs to get out of the business of “doing something”. When an unhappy citizen knows that they can go to government to fix their problems, they have no incentive to work out things themselves. Talking to each other, neighbors can solve these problems. Local government needs to tell them to work it out themselves. It is not the job of government to mediate disagreements.

Beyonce is pregnant. With twins. At a recent awards show, when she came out on stage, women surrounded her. On their knees. Worshipping her. In 2014, there were 33.9 twin pregnancies per 1,000 births. Women who give birth to twins are teachers, police officers, nurses, college students, lawyers, CEOs, doctors and stay-at-home mothers, just like women who give birth to single babies. Each pregnancy is unique and special. Each birth is exceptional. If a popular singer deserves to be worshipped for giving birth to twins, every woman deserves such treatment.

Add to this disgraceful show the fact that the music industry is traditionally liberal and liberals traditionally support abortion. One has to wonder if these people ever stop to think about how foolish they look in their hypocrisy.

Senator Elizabeth Warren is estimated to be worth 14.5 million dollars. She made $430,000 a year as a Harvard professor and is paid $174,000 a year as a Senator. She is married to her second husband and he is a Harvard law professor.
She made a fair amount of money writing books. But even that income does not explain how she became so wealthy that she’s accumulated enough wealth to be part of the 1% she regularly rails against.

In law school, she was listed as a “minority” student, playing the affirmation action card and embracing her 1/32 Native American heritage, of which she has claimed to be proud.

Someone who takes such great pride in her heritage probably does great charity work among Native Americans, real hands-on stuff like teaching in a school or giving Native American kids internships in her office. Oops. Couldn’t find any evidence of those things. My bad.

More hypocrisy? Liberals don’t see it.

Bernie Sanders owns three homes, the last costing $600,000. He purchased that after endorsing Hillary Clinton. The timing is a little suspect.

How do you buy a $600,000 house with $160,000 net worth?

Sanders’ wife, Jane, is president of Burlington College and on Sanders’ disclosure form, assets, including a couple of rental properties, are listed in her name.

However, to buy a home, a third home, for $600,000, how much would her income be and what if the other two homes, one a condo in Washington, D.C., have mortgages? How do you do that?

Governor Jerry Brown bad mouthing Donald Trump. Then he asks for federal money to help California after heavy storms. Look up the word “chutzpah”. Brown’s picture is there.

I suppose we conservatives should be thrilled to see Brown with his hat in his hand. It’s a great example of how liberals don’t plan for the future or provide for themselves. They cannot function in an emergency without other people’s money.
