As Brits we often shy away from shouting about our professional successes. Indeed, many of us suffer from imposter syndrome – the feeling that we don’t deserve our achievements and have only climbed the career ladder through luck.
Well, it’s time to take stock. Because new research from Linked In, published today, suggests that our modesty might be holding us back.
The global study shows that, in the UK, women find it more difficult to talk about their work achievements than their male counterparts – two fifths (42 per cent) said they don’t find it easy, compared to a third (28 per cent) of men. Two-thirds (64 per cent) of professional women said they know they need to talk about their professional achievements in order to get ahead – yet feel like they are bragging when they do so…. read more here
